St Mary's - Liscard

St Mary’s with St Columba is a beautiful historic building in the heart of Liscard. Recorded as a designated Grade 2 listed building, the church has served this part of Wallasey since 1877.

St Mary’s is a welcoming and inclusive church, whose members love God and have a heart for serving the community. We offer a place of belonging, prayer and worship.

With the benefit of National Heritage Lottery Funding, the building has in 2019/20 undergone repairs and redecoration. The church has a large nave and a lady chapel. There is a large, carpeted area at the back of church which is used for our family activities. The church also has the Columba room, which houses a new, fully fitted kitchen with seating and tables suitable for small gatherings or small group activities. There is also an office area and two toilets, one with disabled facilities.

What’s On?

We offer a traditional service of Eucharist every Sunday morning at 10.00 am.

Our regular activities

Messy Church- once per month on Sunday afternoon from 3- 4.30pm. This service caters for families and offers craft activities, games, drama and songs.

Open House - Tuesday afternoons from 3.15 -4.30. This is led by our Children and Families worker and a team of volunteers and caters for families with primary school aged children.  The session is free and offers craft activities, games, drinks and snacks, and a chance for parents and children to meet together in a relaxed atmosphere.

Stay and Play- Thursday morning 10-11.30. This is a session for parents and carers with babies and pre school children. Children can play in safe environment, drinks and snacks are provided.

In school holidays, volunteers enjoy providing a free cooked lunch and children’s activities weekly on a Tuesday, as part of the ‘Bridging the Gap’ initiative. This is for families with primary school aged children.
